Costing guidelines................

Costing any website is a difficult job as it really depends on what is required by the client. The costing can be split into three different areas - all of which are necessary but this my give a better idea of how prices are calculated...........

STAGE 1 Domain Name and Hosting: - A domain name is normally registered for a two year period. The hosting, the server we put your website on, is renewable annually. At whitstablepier.com we absorb both charges in one which results in Stage 1 costing you £100 a year.
STAGE 2 Planning and Construction: - The cost of the second stage depends upon the complexity of the required website. As previously stated we believe in constructing simple but effective sites without the flying gismos that others seem to consider necessary. Not only does this provide a site that is easy on the eye of the visitor, it also keeps the cost to an acceptable level. Our cost for planning and construction is £12 per hour, and we estimate that we would need between 12 and 20 hours depending on the size of the project. Obviously this is only a guideline timing and the actual time can only really be decided during the early planning stage. Unless it is intended to replace the website with a new design annually the Stage 2 price is a one off.
STAGE 3 Annual Maintenance: - It is unlikely that some changes will not be needed during the life of the website and to undertake these changes we charge £10 per hour with a minimum charge of 2 hours.

If the website is going to require a lot of annual maintenance / changes then it is possible to come to a yearly 'all in' charge, which may prove more beneficial.

The first step to getting your own website is to contact us and arrange an initial planning meeting where we can discus your ideas and give you a better idea of pricing. Please see our contacts page for more details.
