News

Rolling Stock: Ex Southend Car 9 left the railway in March 2008 for a new home at the South Downs Heritage Centre. Click HERE to see it leaving Volk's metals.

Cars 7 and 8 are now back in service following winter repairs. Car 7 was suffering from a worn axle box bearing. Both cars also required some body repairs - Car 7 needed a new sliding door, while Car 8 needed two new sliding doors and a new dashboard at the western end. While this work was in hand the opportunity was taken to repaint both cars in a special cream and 'Royal Pageant Burgundy' livery reminiscent of the old Brighton Tramways livery.
Until Cars 7 and 8 reappeared in service the daily running was being handled by Car 9 running as a single (seen right) and Cars 6/10 running as a double. Car 9 waits at Halfway
Track: The west loop is still missing with both points having been removed - there are rails and other parts stored on the temporary beach football platform and the trackbed for the loop is still in place.
